WATER RAFTING EXPEDITION BY ARMY FLAGGED OFF FROM SIKKIM

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 29th February, 2016: A White Water Rafting Expedition undertaken by the Double First Battalion of the Striking Lion Division was flagged off today from Balutar, Sikkim. The Expedition team will cover a grueling stretch of 110 km in three days.  The team consisting of 24 members in three rafts completed a distance of 35 Km from Balutar to Rangpo today. The event is being organized as a part of the adventure activities being undertaken by the Battalion to commemorate its Platinum Jubilee.

After completing the first stretch, the members of the expedition team also interacted with students from various schools and colleges at Rangpo and Singtam. The aim of the interaction was to create awareness amongst the students and local population of Sikkim and West Bengal about Army, its Challenges, and Opportunities. The expedition will resume from Rangpo tomorrow and will cover a distance of 35 Km till Nazeok Reserve Forest. The expedition will be flagged in on 02 Mar 2016 at Sevoke Road.
